OUR VISION
NuWay Cooperative is a DIVIERSIFIED partner to you and your community, delivering EXCEPTIONAL VALUE through knowledge and INNOVATION.
This customer-owned company was formed through the 1980 merger of four farmer-owned businesses whose histories date back to the early 1900s. Today, however, NuWay Cooperative plays a big role in the lives of rural farm and non-farm people alike.
Diversified
The population living in our market area changed, so NuWay Cooperative moved from serving primarily farmers to meeting the needs of a diverse population of farmers, non-farm consumers, and commercial businesses.
In recent years, we entered the convenience store market under the trade name NuMart Convenience Stores and now operate 11 stores in 10 communities: Amboy, Butterfield, Fairmont, Pipestone, St. James—Downtown and St. James—Highway 60, Sherburn, Trimont, Truman, Welcome, and Wells.
Innovative
As our name implies, NuWay Cooperative is not afraid of change. We embrace it and use our flexibility as a locally owned and operated company to make quick decisions and course corrections where we perceive our customers’ needs have changed.
We recently consolidated our energy and agronomy operations at one location and centralized ordering/delivery out of one location. This freed our fuel and fertilizer experts from having to manage people and facilities, allowing them to spend more time working with our customers to improve their profitability.
Exceptional Value
Some things have not changed. For instance, NuWay Cooperative continues to identify with the purposes for which co-ops were founded—to provide a ready supply of goods and services at an exceptional value. We also embrace the ideals of our founders, who rewarded hard work. As a result, NuWay Cooperative is a preferred employer, training and inspiring its staff (your friends and neighbors) to achieve their full potential as people.
We value integrity and local control. This company is committed to the virtue of fairness and is still owned by people it serves. The money you invest by doing business with NuWay Cooperative stays in and supports the communities in which you live and work.
Committed to Community
In these turbulent times, it is nice to do business with a company that has your best interests in mind—a stable organization that will not pick up and leave as soon as the financial or political winds change.
We know the value of a slower-paced rural lifestyle and a rural neighborhood where people look after each other. NuWay Cooperative and our individual employees who live in those neighborhoods are committed to doing everything we can to preserve these values for generations to come.
